Even a diehard cynic might be disarmed and charmed by this glorious claymation movie of Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach. As a audiovisual version of a book, it goes beyond a reproduction to loving inspired rendition. Aside from the classy animation, the film manages to adapt the source material of a children's book into a script that is magic-realist rather than merely whimsical. A great watch, for all ages.
